Patisserie

Our world-class patisserie, which is run by expert pastry chef Marco Pilloni, is located in a lovingly restored former Blacksmiths forge attached to our main building.

Buy delicious items to take home, order bigger special occasion cakes or just come for a relaxing coffee or tea and eat your chosen pastry in the comfy chairs in the bar area of our restaurant. It’s a great way to start the day or to catch up with friends, family and colleagues.

You can also pre-order larger bespoke cakes for birthdays, family gatherings, weddings and Christmas and New Year get togethers or parties. We can even make traditional Christmas yule logs. Prices for special occasion and larger cakes start from £25.

Marco previously worked as Head Pastry Chef at the Michelin-starred Club Gascon in London and creates everything from artisan breads through to brioches and doughnuts, and on to macaroons and mousses.

His first role in the world of patisserie was at the Royal Opera House (ROH) in London, where he trained with Claire Clark, former Head Pastry Chef at the French Laundry, a three-starred Michelin restaurant in California, and judge of the Great British Bake Off’s Crème de la Crème BBC television series.

During his time at the ROH, he even cooked for Her Royal Highness, The Queen.

Small cakes are priced from £2.50/£3 each and a sour dough white loaf is priced £3 or £2.50 for a brown one.

The patisserie is open Wednesday to Saturday 9.30am to 6pm and Sunday 9.30am to 3pm.

We also offer Cream Teas from Wednesday to Sunday from 10.30am until 5.30pm. From home-made scones, jam and cream to full high tea with our patisserie cakes, scones and delectable sandwiches. Tea, coffee or something fizzy. Please call to reserve a table inside or in the garden.

Opening times may differ around national holidays, please call us for further details 01275 818702.
