Tepee or not tepee – that is the question!

We’re officially launching our stunning, novel and contemporary wedding breakfast and reception venue for newlyweds this month (February, 2018).

We have a 10-metre high tepee with firepit in our all-weather garden that can host events for more than 100 people and this year we’re officially opening it up for wedding parties.

We’ve had a few requests for wedding parties here before, so this year we decided to launch the tepee as a wedding venue officially. Brides and grooms can choose from bespoke garden event menus including buffets, hog roasts and huge paellas. Some even like to have pizzas. Our on-site patisserie also bakes tailormade and unique wedding cakes – everything from macaroon towers to very grand affairs.

Our world-class patisserie is run by Marco Pilloni, who hails originally from Sardinia, and he makes these wonderful creations for brides and grooms.

The 38-year-old’s first role in the world of patisserie was at the Royal Opera House (ROH) in London, where he trained with Claire Clark, former Head Pastry Chef at the French Laundry, a three-star Michelin restaurant in California, and judge of the Great British Bake Off’s Crème de la Crème television series for professionals.

With Claire at the ROH, he developed amazing dishes and outstanding afternoon teas. During his time there, he also had the pleasure of cooking an apple and blackberry crumble for her Majesty The Queen!

Marco also worked at the Michelin-starred Club Gascon in London as Head Pastry Chef.

We find wedding parties like to have the whole garden, which has four distinct areas: the top tier is fully covered against inclement conditions and, also, houses our open-air pizzeria kitchen, the garden bar, the patisserie and a rum shack. The second level features a magic turf, all-weather lawn and is set out with very comfortable chairs and nice dining tables.

The third tier houses our large central tepee, which is very striking and quite a talking point. It also has a raised undercover dining snug. The fourth tier is home to a music stage and smoking area plus lawns and gazebos.

We know people just love to host their weddings, eat, drink and socialise outdoors and we ensure that they can do that here, even if it’s windy and raining. We appreciate that regardless of the British weather, wedding guests need to be warm and dry, so we have created amazing year-round spaces outdoors that are just perfect for brides and grooms looking for something that’s really different for their receptions!

For more information, please call us on 01275 818702. Please note the tepee is not licensed to hold weddings, but humanist ceremonies can be performed on-site.

  • Hi
This is a very early reach-out to explore hiring your teepee for our wedding next year (date TBC!)
I see that you can accommodate 100 people, can you confirm if kids are allowed too?
We would likely be interested in the pizza oven route, and if so are GF Pizzas possible?
Finally, costs.. I am really just looking at ball park figures right now, do you have any rate information available at all?

    Many thanks,
